The Jazz Breakfast marked the twentieth anniversary of the death of Charlie Parker with a formal champagne breakfast and live music by players, some of whom knew Bird personally. Bob Smith was the host, Bayard Palmer was the maitre d’ and Eric Metcalfe produced an excellent slide show documenting the life of Charlie Parker. The musicians were Fraser MacPherson, tenor; Jack Stafford, alto; Donne Clarke, trumpet; Ron Johnston, piano; Tony Clitherol, bass; and George Ursan, drums.
