Entering the designated art space we brace ourselves for Art. To a degree, the work on show in this space remains contained and separate from our daily experience. For Hidden Treasures, the gallery space, with its power to legitimize and contain the art, is off limits.
The artists of this group show have been invited to produce site-specific work which can be found in and around the Western Front building. In it, they communicate their perception of the space, the organization and the history of the building by cloaking the space, transmitting live video signals, obscuring views and placing the Western Front in a network of diverse conceptual value-systems.
