Back by popular demand! Vancouver’s Mother of Pearl Jazz Quintet debuted sheBOP! this fall at the VECC. The bandÇs original stage idea, SheBOP! is full of surprises. From the tune that became Frank Sinatra’s first hit to the television theme that’s been called Canada’s second national anthem, these works by anadian women span every decade and every style of jazz. Mother of Pearl is Brenda Baird, piano; Wendy Holloway, bass; Lauri Lyster, drums; Karen Graves, saxophones; Colleen Savage, vocals and special guests including Vancouver jazz legend Eleanor Collins.
