Eric Deis discussed the problems of obsolescence in Media & Digital Artworks, and methods of responsible artistic production. He also provided a survey of his work, which continually jumps between traditional forms and digital processes.
Eric has developed policies for preservation and cataloguing of digital artworks at the Vancouver Art Gallery, and teaches cross digital practices, From Drawing to Digital, at Emily Carr Institute.
Eric Deis is an emerging interdisciplinary artist from Vancouver, Canada. He has produced impactful works in video, installation, digital media, sculpture, drawing, and photography. Deis is a graduate of Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design, Vancouver (B.F.A.) and the University of California, San Diego (M.F.A.). His work has been exhibited in Canada, Denmark, Ireland, Brazil, Mexico, United States, and Germany.
